About this lesson

A big dragon sleeps by the village well and the villagers cannot get water. A little girl asks it nicely, and the dragon wakes up, helps, and then goes back to sleep.

    Zhèlǐ yǒu yì kǒu jǐng.

    There is a well here.

  2. 井旁边有一个大龙。

    Jǐng pángbiān yǒu yí gè dà lóng.

    Next to the well there is a big dragon.

  3. 龙在睡觉，小美不能打水。

    Lóng zài shuìjiào, Xiǎo Měi bù néng dǎ shuǐ.

    The dragon is sleeping, so Xiao Mei cannot get water.

  4. 小美说：“龙，请您起来。”

    Xiǎo Měi shuō: “Lóng, qǐng nín qǐlai.”

    Xiao Mei says, "Dragon, please get up."

  5. 龙笑了，走到旁边。

    Lóng xiào le, zǒu dào pángbiān.

    The dragon smiled and walked to the side.

  6. 小美很高兴，龙去睡觉了。

    Xiǎo Měi hěn gāoxìng, lóng qù shuìjiào le.

    Xiao Mei is very happy, and the dragon went to sleep.
